Senior Executive with demonstrated success leading start-ups and Fortune 500 companies as an entrepreneurial CEO, Business Unit President and Marketing Executive. Developed quick team-based solutions for companies in trouble and brought those solutions to successful implementation. Following a distinguished career in printing (Print Hall of Fame inductee in 1999), built TATevis & Company in 2001 to provide advice to Hedge Funds, Equity & Bond Funds, Private Equity Companies, and the Graphics Industry.

Consultant to the Print Industry & Turnaround Executive

Retained by companies to improve financial discipline, implement downsizing strategy, create marketing direction or aid in the sale of the company. Assignments vary in length and provide the necessary bridge to return the company to profitability, sell the business or assist in the financial assessment of a given opportunity.

Current assignments in 2010 include assisting a book publisher launch a new series and positioning a retailer/catalog company with improved advertising & promotion plus completing the due diligence on an acquisition. Previous assignments include:

R. R. Donnelley & Sons, Inc. ($10Billion Corporation) 1999-2000
* President- Digeno.com
Returned to RRD as President of a new eCommerce Business Unit & invested $6.SMM of Donnelley Venture Capital to develop an e-commerce solution to enhance the Donnelley core offering. Built and launched Digeno.com in September 2000, merging it with other Donnelley ventures by year-end.

Printing Arts America 1998 -1999

Recruited by Kohlberg & Co to capitalize on the roll-up consolidation financial model that was sweeping the print
industry. Raised $35MM through private equity and $100MM of debt & acquired 10 companies with sales in excess of $200MM.

R. R. Donnelley & Sons, Inc. 1992-1997
* Business Unit President: Donnelley Direct- 1996-1997.
Three acquisitions had lost money and sales for three consecutive years. New team fixed both operational and earnings issue in one year.
* Business Unit President: Sterling Group (Catalogs) 1992-1996
With the help of BCG, created, recruited and staffed a new specialty catalog business unit. Re-capitalized two manufacturing divisions, increased market share from 15% to 24% in four years. Sales grew to $265MM and pre-tax earnings tripled to $21MM by 1995.

American Signature Graphics 1985-1992
* President & CEO
Recruited by American Standard to turnaround five printing acquisitions. Fifteen months later and with the printing group now at B/E, the AST board decided to exit print. Successfully negotiated with customer to bring its equity and $25MM of magazine printing to a management led LBO. With Citibank financing and Riordan Publishing, our team purchased ASG in 1987.
• From 1985 through the sale in 1992, ASG grew from an unprofitable company with $87MM in sales to $350MM in sales with $22MM in earnings. As both the CEO and lead Marketing Executive for the company, our growth came primarily from market share increases in the NY publishing market, the catalog direct mail market and the acquisition of competitor in 1989, my former employer, Foote &Davies.
